After much speculation, you can look for the Palm Centro to land on Verizon Wireless on June 13th. The Centro was also found on Verizon's test site. Specifications and pricing after the break.

The specifications are the same as previous versions of the Centro.

  • 1.3 megapixel camera
  • Palm OS
  • EvDO (Broadband access)
  • Bluetooth

The Verizon "testman" site also lists "video messaging" and "touch navigation". We have yet to hear if it will support VZW Navigator. Verizon will price the Centro at $369 without a contract. With a one year contract, the price drops to $339-$70 mail-in rebate. With a 2-year contract, the price is $269-$70 leaving the Centro at $199. Expect a $100 instant rebate on 2-year contracts to bring the price below $100.

According to an AT&T Store Manager, the AT&T Centro will be released next Tuesday, February 19th.

The source indicated the Palm Centro, pictured here in white, will be priced at $99 (presumably after rebates). A GSM version of the Palm Centro was just announced for Europe, lending credibility to a US release being imminent. Sprint had an exclusive on the Palm Centro which expired in late January.

Tero Kuittinen, a financial analyst for Avian, claims discussions with operator sources indicate Palm will release the Centro on both AT&T Wireless and T-Mobile. This would be the first Palm release on T-Mobile in years.

The carriers have warmed up to Palm due to the success of the Centro on Sprint. Sprint's three month exclusivity is expected to end later this month. Palm's CFO declined to discuss specific operator details, but reportedly "giggled" when asked about T-Mobile carrying the Centro.

No word on whether Verizon will pick up the Centro.
