Palm has teamed up with InStyle.com for a promotion to give away 10 of the new Vibrant rose Centro smartphones. For a chance to enter, head on over to Palm for a chance to win. No purchase necessary. Sweepstakes ends on November 30th, 2008.

Palm, Inc. is working with The Princess Project, a nationally recognized organization based in the San Francisco Bay Area that provides prom dresses to girls who could not otherwise afford them, to host eight special screenings of the upcoming 20th Century Fox romantic comedy "27 Dresses," starring Katherine Heigl. The first 27 people to arrive to each screening with a dress donation for The Princess Project will win a brand-new Palm Centro smartphone from Sprint.

Tickets to the charity screenings are available at participating Palm and Sprint Stores. The screenings will take place on Thursday, Jan. 10, in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Dallas, Washington D.C. and San Francisco.

Katherine Heigl kicked off the initiative by donating a dress she wore in the film to The Princess Project. The Princess Project is an organization that helps high school girls feel special on a night that holds great importance to them by providing free prom dresses and accessories to those who cannot otherwise afford them. Since the organization began serving Bay Area girls in 2002, more than 7,000 girls have received dresses and accessories through The Princess Project giveaway days and events such as the Palm hosted screenings for “27 Dresses.” In 2007, girls came from 208 high schools, 193 zip codes, and 76 cities throughout California. Donations must be prom dresses, formal gowns or fancy party dresses from 2002 to present, and be dry-cleaned and on hangers.

One of the advantages of Palm's partnering with Sprint Wireless on the new Palm Centro is the availability of SprintTV. Check out our video that provides a quick look at how SprintTV performs on the Palm Centro smartphone.

SprintTV offers a variety of programming to suit most everyones needs. One caveat, some of the programming requires an additional monthly fee of up to $5.99. For most, the channel selection is more than sufficient for mobile TV. For access to the major channels such as CBS and ABC, you'll be required to have a Sprint Power Vision TV Pack. This also gives you access to Sprint Music. The Sprint Power Vision Ulitmate Pack is $25.00 additional per month and upgrades Sprint Music to Sprint Music Premier. Sprint Music Premier programming includes 50 radio channels, including Top 20 Hits, Hip Hop/R&B 70s, 80s, 90s, grunge and dance hits; full-length music videos and Power View Music with exclusive video and artist interviews. The base data plan, Sprint Power Vision Access Pack, provides you with access to Sprint TV and Sprint Music. That is the base data plan and retails at $15.

If you watch the occasional show on your Palm Centro, then there is no need to go beyond the Sprint Power Vision Access Pack. However, the Sprint Power Vision TV pack offers the most bang for your mobile entertainment dollar featuring full-length episodes from a variety of programs and Sprint Music. Combined with the EvDO access, SprintTV is a nice addition to the Palm Centro.
