Default headphone adapter

i went to radioshack and a few other places and tested their headphone adapters for my centro. with most of them, they sound only came out of one ear. i'm still looking, but wary of buying online because i can't test it.

did anyone buy the adapter offered through this website?

http://store.everythingcentro.com/co.../12-45--13.htm

if so, could you please let me know if sound comes out on both sides?
thanks.

I've used it with my Treo650 and it worked great. However, I only get sound out of both left and right sides if I do not put the headphone jack all the way into the adapter. I've tried other adapters that don't work and have a new one coming tomorrow or monday. I'll let you know if it works.

I bought an adapter from RadioShack and it works fine. Just make sure to get a Stereo adapter so both sides work! Also I had to shave a little plastic off the adapter so it would fit all the way in.

I ordered this adapter and it came yesterday. It has music coming out of both sides of the heaphones, has a volume control on it, a microphone that allows you to talk on them if a call comes in and it's about the least expensive adapter you'll find....and it works with my Centro.

I have the same problem. You can try to pull the headphone adapter partially out of the adapter and may get stereo...but that is lame. The hybrid headphones that Radio Shack sells do not work either; i will buy a headphone specifically for centro from this site and report later;<img>

I purchased a stereo headphone adapter directly from the Palm store, item #3191WW....it works just fine. i.e. sound out of both channels! The cost is $9.99

This delimma has been bugging me, too. Searching for a decent pair of earbuds with a 2.5mm jack was pointless. I went to Fry's and picked up this cool little adapter for $4.99:

It works out pretty well considering the cost. I like the microphone and answer/end button as well. The sound is pretty good, as long as you're using ear buds and not the larger over-ear phones. Since the cable on the adapter is short, you'll have to hold your phone when using the hands-free feature, but it sounds pretty good for both parties when using it. The only connection issues I've had is when carrying the phone (at waist level or below) and listening to music - occasional crackle, but not too bad.

I would definitely recommend this solution to anyone seeking to use their existing phones.

Eh,

Well, I can see why the Radio-Shack adapter comes out on only one earbud. The plug doesn't go in all the way unless you cut-off some of rubber off, which I did. Perfect Sound. 5 bucks.

I enjoy hooking it up to my car and using Mundoradio.

Can anyone tell me why we put up with this nonsense? Is there any other product on the market where the users have to put up with this issue of trying to find adapters to make headsets work? I've had treos and now centros for years but am seriously considering abandoning them if they can't get their act together on this silly issue!
