Default longer text messages? need help!1

Hey all, I just got a Centro and I love it. There's only one small problem I have with the OS. I mainly use this for for texting (i'm talking 99% of the thing I do).

With this, I usually send long text messages. My other phone could reconize if I went over 160 characters and start a new message automatically, and then send them all at the same time.

Is there software that I can install to do this? Or a way to enable it on the Palm OS? This is a deal-breaker for me and I'd hate to return the phone if I couldn't..

Thanks in advance!

I asked before and no one came up with a solution.

160 is the limit. I don't believe it's a Palm issue, but carrier related. I do know that you will not be able to do more than 160 characters on the Centro (or Treo for that matter).

There is a odd way around this you could set it up as picture mail then remove the image and send just the text I know that's way more than 160 char

No...I don't think he's trying to find a way to get around the 160 char. max. I also have this feature on my MotoQ. When composing a new text message, and typing in the body, if you go over the 160 char. limit, a little status bar will pop up at the bottom saying something like 172/160 (2 messages). It will still look as if it's one text message, but when you send it off, the phone will automatically cut it into 160 char. blocks and send them all once. It's too bad PalmOS doesn't have this feature, it's my favorite feature on this phone

I looked into this program at http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Sy...ix-13813.shtml It states that it is only approved for Treo 650 devices, and do not use on Treo 600. Has anyone tried this on the Centro yet? I'm a little leery...

This is a little off topic, but my Treo 650 had a great program called sticky keys. Does anyone know if its available for Centro? It basically lets you text easier by holding down the key for the control function or hitting it twice (quickly) for caps (if I remember correctly)

There are a few issues I have with Treo, but all in all, I love my Centro. I wish I could just receive a regular .gif text message but you have to click the email, then view media, then play media. It's too much!
