versamail question

My versamail is working, my question is i have it set to autosync every 5 minutes to receive email. well i i have not seen it do this yet, i have to manually tell it to do this. Is my thinking correct on the fact that since the phone auto shutoffs after 3 minutes of being idle that entire process starts over each time, or is it because i keep thephone in the main screen and it wont do this unless it is in the email page. IF i am correct in one or the other please tell me and how can i correct this so that email just come in and i dont have ot manually tell it to download them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

are you trying to use it with aol or gmail or another kind ? I've read a lot of ppl using aol have issues with this

No it is through my local independant phone company. I mean i can send and receive emails just fine. I just have to manually tell the versamail to "GET" the emails. It will not automatically check for them, thats what i am trying to get. I have the autosync set for every 5 minutes but its not doing it for some reason.

try deleting some mail out of the account your retrieving the mail from. from what I've read versamail is very buggy with this feature. aslo make sure you don't have your settings setup to leave your mail on the server for a extended amount of time, like 30 days, change that to 7 or something. these are some tips I've read that have helped. hope it works!

I have mine set to check every 20 minutes and it also doesn't seem to do that. But it DOES get email on its own -- not sure what the schedule is. Maybe 20 minutes means "random" to versamail
