change email notification sound

i have a palm centro (sprint) and when i receive an email, it vibrates to alert me when i have one.

is there any way to change that to a custom sound?

Go to preferences from the apps screen, under the General heading choose the Sounds and Alerts, then at the top of the screen next to Applications highlight the down arrow (probably will say Ring Tones) and change to messaging, then you can change the message tone and volume and when to vibrate. Hope this helps, I am learning too!

go to email application, tap menu key, select options, then select preferences. In preferences, there is an option to select alerts. Alerts option allows you to select an alert sound from a drop down menu. hope this helps.
