Default How to set an alarm?

I have searched through the main screen and prefs and what-not. Although I can't seem to stumble upon an application reading "Alarm". Can anybody help me out? I'm just looking to be able to set a normal alarm for a certain time during the week.

Took me awhile to find it too. Go to the main menu and then to "world clock". You've got to get you time zone right but then in the upper right corner (if memory serves) there will be a field for alarm clock. Hope that helps.

Yes, but it's pretty lame: you can only set an alarm for within the next 24 hours! And it's not repeatable! I bought an app to solve this a while back called $9.95 Clock, but it was crap, and ended up deleting it. I guess the work-around is putting something in your schedule and then it's repeatable etc. Any other ideas on this topic?

First of all, the quick way of getting to your clock/alarm is to hold down the button on the side that is just below the volume buttons. Hold it for three seconds and you're in the clock funtion.

Setting up a schedule is probably the most straight forward option. Just select/create a new alarm tone for when you have it set to go off so it actually wakes you.

That method of accessing that app is programmable - under Prefs/Buttons, the Press + Hold Side button can be set to World Clock or many other functions. It is not how I currently have it programmed. But my main question is are you inferring that you can have unique alarm tones per alarm? I don't know how to do that, and don't see it under the schedule options. I'm only aware of changing that under Sound and Alerts / Calendar. Is there a trick for this?

Honestly, I don't know. There might have been a third party program used. I'll look at my other board and see if I can find the post that mentioned doing this.

Huh, it was on this forum:

Guess he only uses the scheduler as an alarm clock, which severely limits it's uses.

Why not simply use the Calendar?

With the built-in PIM, I think you can only set alarms at five minute intervals, but you can go up to 2031 (I think), and you can choose daily/weekly/bi-weekly/monthly/yearly repeats. (I use DateBk6, which integrates seamlessly with the built-in callendar but gives you tons of additional functionality.)

Regards,

Jochen

P.S. If you feel like splashing out a bit of money, I highly recommend the "Wireless" version of Palmary clock.

It's an all singing, all dancing clock / alarm clock / timer / stopwatch/... program, which will also give you weather forecasts, currency exchange rates and synchronisation to the web time server(s) of your choice, thus alway making your Centro's clock show the correct time.
