It's not a bug but simply the way the charge display has been configured by Palm.

If you charge long enough, the display will eventually show 100% - while the Centro is being charged.
The moment you disconnect the charger, the display will change to 99%.

I like this much better than what Palm did on the T3 (I've had four, and all behaved the same way):
You'd charge up to 100%, the display would stay at that value for half an hour or more, and then, in the blink of an eye, drop to 83%.

Regards,

Jochen

Another reason could be that if you did not automatically charge your phone until it was at 100% it will never be at its full capacity. But usually that is when it only charges to a lower one, like, 97%. Still, if you didn't charge it right away the battery life isn't at its full...

...but surely it would still state 100% once the charger finished its work, wouldn't it?
AFAIK, it would simply drop to 0% faster.

Regards,

Jochen

What is the typical battery life before recharging? It seems like the battery drains quite quickly when not even in use.

What is the best way to conserve the power other than turning the phone off completely?

Thos.

My wife and I are having the same issue with our phones also. She's had hers for over a month, I've had mine for less than one week. Even though we charge our phones overnight, they both read only 99% even though the green LED indicator comes on. Probably some type of software glitch in reading the battery level. I will monitor over the next month to see if the problem becomes worse.
