Default Putting mp3 ringtones on centro

I don't have a SD card. Is there anyway to put ringtones on Palm Centro (Sprint) without having to go on the internet or anything. I don't want any extra charges on my phone. I tried minitones and musictones, but it brings up a blank page. It doesn't recognize any of the .mp3 songs I have on there. However, they can be found in the pTunes.

I think miniTones works off of the SD card. In your position, I would make the mp3 ringtone in Audacity, email it to yourself, and downlaod it as an attachment onto your phone. I haven't made any ringtones myself, but I plan on using the miniTones + SD card method very soon.

Best of luck!

You could always try to transfer via IR. I've got my Centro next to my IR port of my laptop and was able to tranfer that way. Only problem the doesn't show up for an option for ringtones. I only see the file if I open up Ptunes. This doesn't seem to be an easy thing to accomplish unless there's an SD card available.

not to sound like a jerk, but why would you want a phone like the palm if you "dont want any extra charges" having a pda phone usually consists of having a plan to accomidate using all the features of the phone? sounds like you wanted it for bling factor more than anything. you have a PDA, very internet happy phone. stop being cheap and get the plan to be able to use it. or just go back to a free flip phone

Cheapest thing is to spring for the SD card. Seriously, unless you are cutting down the MP3 length before putting it on the phone you will run out of phone memory quickly making mp3's ringtones.

I saw a post where Newegg has 2gb for $7 incl shipping. Look around. Then you can use minitones. Believe me the extra storage comes in handy.

I rarely use the internet on my phone and will cancel the data plan as soon as my rebate check comes. I uses it for the organizer and that works very well for me. I do not need to be that connected to my email but like the smartphone for ease of texting and staying organized with the ability to sync to my computer.

Hotsync em. If you have Sprint service your phone came with a Sprint software to manage your music. You can use your HotSync to transfer songs already on your pc to your phone. Or you can use a program called Card Reader for palm. Its a program that turns your pc into a Usb Storage unit. You have to have hotsync cable plugged in to use this. You connect your hotsync cable...turn this program on...it pops up a popup window (if your on Vista, not sure about any other kind of windows) that gives you options like transfer pics , music, files etc......

You can copy your music onto your phone this way. Just remember what folder you put your songs in so that you can easily find them. I put mine in the Audio folder on my phone. Ill include the link to the program. But the first option is the easiest. The second one is easy to just alot of setup involved.

http://mytreo.net/downloads/card-reader,1122.html The card reader program isnt free but its a trial version for 30 days.
