Palm Centro Smartphone

Announced at Digital Life in NY on September 27th, 2007, the Palm Centro represents a new era in smartphones for Palm, Inc. The dimensions of the new Palm Centro make it the smallest Palm smartphone ever. Despite this new small form factor, the Palm Centro retains all the functionality you'd find in the larger Palm Treo smartphone. For those who might have considered the Treo to be "clunky", the Palm Centro offers a great option for those seeking a smaller smartphone option.

Palm Centro Features

If you are considering a new Palm Centro, here are some of the main features:

  • The Palm Centro features a 320x320 high resolution touch screen. This is also a full touchscreen allowing for easy input via the QWERTY keyboard or touchscreen.
  • Multi-connector means that the Palm Centro is backward compatible when it comes to Centro accessories. Those making the jump from the Treo will be able to utilize their existing accessories
  • The Palm Centro is multi-media centric (pardon the pun). The Centro software bundle includes a full version of PocketTunes Deluxe. This program is by far the best music application for Palm OS smartphones. Additionally, the Centro comes equipped with a 1.3 megapixel camera. Not only is it easy to take photos, but it's even easier to share them. Support for MMS, email and web photo sharing sites like Flickr makes it easy to share your photos.
  • The Centro is currently available in two colors: Ruby Red and Black Onyx.
  • The Palm Centro will ship with Palm Desktop software that supports Windows XP and Mac OS X. If you own Vista, you'll need to download the latest beta of Palm Desktop.
